What is it with fans always wanting to see prospects lose?

especially on these message boards. Is it that there are just too many people here that could not make it so they pull against the good ones? is it just like everything else in life where those on top are always criticized and the losers have all the excuses why the other guy got lucky?

Andre Berto dominated that fight. He got hit with one HUGE shot and was hurt. So the hell what!!! The kid showed great heart and this might have been the best thing that could have happened to him.

IMO Rivera got lucky, yes lucky, to land that shot. If Berto wasn't overzealous then I doubt all the Berto hate would arise.

that was not a lucky punch. i even predicted a couple rounds earlier that rivera was going to catch him with a shot like that. it was a good wakeup call for Berto. He's ready natual talent wise, but he needs a couple more tv fights before he faces a big time guy. his mindgame isnt there yet.

Berto will still be champion one day and i hope he does, but i feel he got babied a little bit. he was clearly dazed and his corner cheated to give him an extra min of recovery.
