so far i have seen a few povetkin fights, there is nothing to say he will be the future of the division at the moment, imo he looks solid though and could well win a title. i agree with you about his power its ok but nothing amazing.
he is fighting chris byrd soon if he does do well against him and destroys him like ibeabuchi did then i will be much more impressed to be honest i am keeping an open mind on him till then.

Povetkin wins because of the number and accuracy of his punches - he throws more punches per round than just about any heavyweight. He has knocked out most of his opponents, not because of one single, devastating shot, but because of an accumulation of hard punches.

Povetkin does not have Foreman-like devastating power. He's a heavy, accurate puncher like Vitali or Pavlik, but not a one punch KO artist like Wladimir or Sam Peter. People tend to either overrate or underrate his power - the truth is he has good power combined with great offensive skills.

I dont think he's a very big puncher but he's hits hard enough to get your respect. you dont have to be a big hitter to be a potential champion

he's not nearly as big a puncher as morrison was. I'd say he has fair power,,,but not the one punch guy that morrsion was
