    David “Nino” Rodriguez......

Is he the future of the heavyweight division? I think so. I like his skill set. I've only seen him fight twice now but his last performance on the Holyfield undercard was impressive. I think it's time to line him up against somone ranked in the top 15 like Briggs or Rahman and see what he's really made of. Thoughts anyone? Here's his website:

Here is ESPN's description of him, granted this was 7 fights ago so it's not much:

"He must be considered, particularly because he has the look that is in vogue with promoters and boxing fans alike: He is a large -- 6-foot-5, 240 pounds -- and Hispanic. Rodriguez went four rounds in his last fight, which must have felt like a marathon for him. In his previous 18 fights, he won all by first-round knockout, with the exception being Martin Lopez's lasting into the third round before being stopped. Rodriguez recently was featured in The Ring magazine's prospects section. He has taken a step up in competition lately, as four of his last seven opponents had winning records. It might not seem like much, but his first 12 opponents could not crack the .500 level. Is Rodriguez the next Alex Garcia or the first heavyweight champion of Mexican descent? "

I've heard of this guy but never seen him fight; right now there's "a dime a dozen" of these prospects in the hw division today. If he wants to stand out he's gotta impress the fans and fight some good competition...
