This could be Khan's opportunity to be a very quick champion, then I suppose Warren will arrange a bunch of mediocre mandatories.

Khan seems to be fixed on becoming a world champion at the age of 21. lightweight is packed with talent so a win over Rees for his WBA LW belt may be his best opportunity of achieving his goal.

        To quote from the article
"Rees is expected to take on mandatory Andreas Kotelnik on the undercard of Joe Calzaghe vs. Mikkel Kessler on November 3 at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium."

So unless Warren pays step aside money,I can't see the WBA sanctioning another voluntary defence when there is a mandatory challenger in the wings.

Khan should take it if it's Offered he has a punchers chance of winning, Rees is'nt that good a fighter anyway, but the WBA should'nt sanction it don't even think the WBA no who Khan is, Witter could clain the title then a fight with hatton, Hatton could finally shut that little **** witter up once and for all.

i can see hatton-witter happening after mayweather actually.

heres my prediction: hatton will give a decent account of himself against pbf but still lose fairly comfortably. junior witters mouth will then go into overdrive saying that hatton is past it. hatton will then come back to the uk and finally set the record straight by battering "the hitter" into retirement.

good call Rooq, great domestic fight would'nt sell well in the USA don't think they know who Witter is, real purple patch for British boxing at the moment

amir khan is pretty quick but has little power and at european level he will either get knocked out by johnny thaxton or if hes feeling really brave he will face kevin mitchell.
mitchell has power and speed to batter khan and not afraid to take a few to get through his own shots and once that occurs....well we know what happens when khan takes one on the chin.
frank warren knows he has to avoid those fights if khan is to continue maikng him money so, i think he will opt for maybe...alex arthur at s/feather? or alex to move up to lightweight? or just more bums.
as for junior witter, hes brilliant! and dont forget about the short notice fight he took against "super" judah and although he lost on points and at such an early stage in his career he made judah look pretty ordinary and would be a better opponent for mosley or possibly paul williams.

Warren should keep moving Kahn like he has been. let him develop and 5 or 6 fights from now, let him take on some tomato can champion. He's young. Titles aren't going anywhere.
