Britain or US for Mayweather v Hatton and why?

I'm American- but I'm a minority in the sense that I don't think all fights should be in America. We'll say that the most money is here- the advertisers, etc. What? Bull****. Most corporations are multi-national now in this age of the global economy and would be just as likely to sponsor it. Plus, Britain is not a third world country. For every American sponsor that lost interest a British one would fill in the gap.
The gate would be higher in Britain. Hatton has more fans than Mayweather when it comes to selling tickets- and I like Mayweather far more than Hatton- but go where the fans are. Sure, many come to America...but why not prompt even more to attend the event by having it in their backyard?
So there would be more fans there, more money- PPV buys would be identical for the event in America regardless of where it is held- plus you tack on Brits hearing about the fight locally and buying, too. So that makes more money.
But the real reason I want it to be in England is, like I said, so it becomes an international ordeal. The media will have to wake up if two countries worth of boxing fans are foaming at the mouth for a showdown. It will be better for the sport to have our pound for pound king show that boxing is alive and well all across the globe.Comment

You obviously have no clue on the subject so i suggest you be quiet now and save yourself some embarassment. Football Hooligianism is NOWHERE NEAR as bad as it once was in the UK. As somebody else said, it's more of a problem in other countries now, like Italy and Argentina.
The problem in the UK has been 95% solved.Comment

I'm American...but...if you're trying to say that the British people are so ignorant and barbaric that we can't have sporting events in their country because they'd riot...well...****. You're making us look like the ignorant, Budweiser gulping, macho- Al Bundy figures Europeans often paint us as. I mean, you just need to be careful how you frame your views. It sounds like you're saying Brits are too wild to be trusted.Comment
