I think Collazo might defeat Floyd Mayweather. But PBF will never fight a top welterweight in his prime - that we can be certain of!

Mayweather prefers to take an easier route. He chooses shot fighters (Gatti and Judah) and past prime fighters (De La Hoya and Baldomir).

In Venezuelan rivers they are called caribes. They are known for their sharp teeth and an aggressive appetite for meat and flesh.

The name piranha may come from a hybrid language composed of Tupi-Guarani languages; it may be a compound word made of the components 'pirá', meaning 'fish', and 'sanha' or 'ranha', meaning 'tooth'. In Tupi, inalienably possessed nouns take the prefix 't-', 's-', or 'r-' depending on the possessor, or zero in combination; thus 'pirá'+'anha'. Alternatively, it may come from Tupi 'pirá' ('fish') and 'ánha' (devil).[

I'd say he was one of the top Welters, certainly top ten, I don't think any of the top welters would beat him easily but it's another ****** poll where the answers are weighted to make Ricky Hatton look bad. And don't try and kid us that this isn't what this topic was about.
how can you say that none of the other top welters would beat him easily, when one (Shane Mosley) already has - and in Collazo's last fight, no less?

As far as the question - it depends on what is defined as "top". Top 10? Yes. But to me, "top fighter" and "top 10 fighter" have two different meanings. Collazo's probably a top 10 welterweight or at least on the bubble, but to call him a top welterweight is like saying Robinson Cano is one the top players on the Yankees.

So you think Collazo could beat DLH at 154?

He got beat by a small jr welter in his first fight at 147. And Collazo is a big welter who's fought at 154. He's slick but fighting at 147/154 he's going to have trouble with the top guys.

That's a good observation; hell why don't they make that fight, Judah vs Collazo

Judah vs. Collazo makes a lot of sense right now. Both of them have lost a couple of fights against top competitors in the past year or so. This would give one of them a good chance at a career resurrection. I'd like to see these two get paired up.

I'd pick Collazo over Judah. I'd pick him over Baldomir as well. Williams is a bad style matchup for him and I don't see him doing too well agasint Mayweather, but I reckon Collazo is probably eighth or ninth.
