The undercard really was F'ing fantastic, but I don't know about this writer going on and on with praise. This undercard wasn't designed with greatness in mind, it was just another Goldenboy undercard that happened to catch fire with the 2nd bout.
I can't say I regret spending the money because I probally saw the fight of the year with Katsidis/Amansot, and my favorite fighter won the main event. If the Katsidis fight had been stopped on a cut, the entire night would have been pretty ordinary really.
Linares was good, but his fight was really Boxing After Dark material, and no, I am not talking about the "good-old days" that launched the series. I love B-hop and was happy that he won, but that fight was pretty hard to watch even as huge fan of the Executioner.

Think of the undercards we may get with these (hopefully) forthcoming co-promotions between GBP and Top Rank...

A great fight? A GREAT fight??!?!?!?! Were we watching the same fight? It was a clutch-fest. I thought i saw John Ruiz fighting himself out there. Did it do good PPV numbers? Probably, but it was in no way a great fight. Czar vs. Katsidis and a build up of a young champ (Linares) vs. an over the hill vet (Larrios) is NOT worth $50. Boxing isn't back (it never left), but im sure Wright/Hopkins turned a lot of fans of (i know that for a fact, because my brother had a fight party and by the time the fight was over, there was only 4 of us left watching).
