It's kind of a good test for him and it's kind of not... Cosme Rivera is a bit older then him but Cosme Rivera has some decent power on him.

Mayweather jr. is a great fighter and I take nothing away from him but if he sticks around a few more years, he will have reached the end of his rope with Andre Berto. I'm well aware of little Floyd's accomplishments and skills but a younger, faster and harder hitting Berto would overwhelm him. This is coming from someone who usually defends against statements made like this about Floyd when compared to other Welterweights of today but against Andre I just have to keep it real!

the young lion always beats the old one.
sooner or later lfoyd will get old and someone
will beat him its just nature. thats why floyd is smart
he will get out before its too late. its not that someone
is better than him its jsut someone will catch him out
of his prime and beat him when they are in their own
prime. something liek taylor beating hopkins and drawing
with winky. vargas beating ike and oscar and tito beating pernell.

those few years make a big difference even if its only 2 rounds
you would have won 3 4 years ago you lose them now. and that
        can cost you a fight.

Berto might have a puncher's chance against Mayweather right now, beyond that Mayweather would school him. I really like Berto's potential, but let's not put him in the ring with a real P4P big shot just yet. Kid has a lot more experience to gain and more lessons to learn. What I've seen from him against fighters his level has been excellent. Didn't everybody feel the same way about Jeff Lacy and Zab Judah, though? Look what happened to them when the stepped in with a P4P fighter. Embarssment, that's what. I'd like to see Berto in with a fighter like Joel Julio next, and then maybe someone like Josh Clottey, and if he gets passed Clottey, Paul Williams should, barring unforseen developments, still be undefeated and ready for him, setting up a mega showdown between two young powerhouses at 147, with the winner being, possibly, the new crowned P4P King of Boxing.

Im saying put Berto in With Alfonso Gomez on HBO B.A.D. Im not sold on Berto, yes physically he looks great (no ****, ha) but im just not sure, same with Gomez, hes coming off a big win, obviously has boxing skills, great timing, i think this could be a good fight, and let the winner get someone like Junior. This division is loaded and some weeding out needs to be done.

Also, it'll be good to see him against someone who has experience. Remember what Tito did to Reid...ended his career. Not saying Cosme is Tito...just sayin... Nor is Berto a Reid
