I think he might try and start out toe-to-toe...but even if Ricky runs the fact is there. Many of those who picked Oscar over Mayweather did so- not because Oscar is a better boxer- but because they thought he was too big for Mayweather. What about for Hatton?!? We've seen him get dominated against a welterweight already- watch the damn Collazo fight. The end was not pretty for Ricky. The only time a much smaller man has a chance against a solid boxer with a big punch is when he is faster and more skilled. Is Ricky faster and more skilled than De la Hoya? No. Brutal one sided, short fight that ends with Hatton on the floor.

De la hoya is only doing this in spite of Floyd, what a *****. Floyd doesn't seem to care tho as I haven't heard a peep from him about all of this.

        please stop it.

Those of you who are hoping for old man De la Hoya to fight Ricky Hatton, that's fine, but let's get serious.Who would you rather see against Ricky?
This is a money grab for De la Hoya. He is trying his damnest to stop floyd from getting this fight and why must you ask? Simply because Hatton provides the gate, and Oscar knows it. Oscar is upset that he lost to Floyd(although close) and would like to avenge that loss by beating a smaller less technically gifted Hatton. Floyd's team is also aware of this. Until Oscar came into the mix, Floyd had no interest in fighting Hatton. Now, he' s talking like he can't wait to get in the ring with the junior welterweight champ. It's funny how this sport works. The welterweight division is packed with good oppenents, from top to bottom. This is all the proof you need to know that these to supposed all time greats are all about the money.

Could also be a bargining chip to get Ricky a better deal in negotiations with Mayweather , Mayweather wants him and if he thinks ODH is gunna **** it up he may be willing to take Hatton cheaper to secure the fight ,, either way this triangle goes Ricky will get beat by both guys so in the end its all about money .

Oscar can fight Hatton, but he shouldnt wait a year to fight. He could set a fight with Hatton for November or December easily. Then go on for another shot at a final big bout.

Cotto and Mayweather should meet sometime soon, I dont know whats takin this fight so f@#$ing long to make lol.

So we have a smaller, out-gunned, less skillful brawler against a power punching veteran with more skill and a enough left in the tank to really do damage. Oscar has a good chin - so taking two to give one would still see him winning. This is an easy, easy fight for De la Hoya.
I agree for the most part.

              This fight is embarrassing.

Cotto and De La Hoya are a much better matchup.

              Hatton and Mayweather.

This is a big money fight for Oscar and Ricky. Ricky would get beat down, but it's big money. Ricky really don't wanna fight Floyd, he's just frontin' so Oscar can pay him more money "luring" him away from the Floyd fight. Ricky don't want no part of Floyd; he'll get owned. And in a DLH fight he'll get KTFO, but at least he'll get paid, so I'm thinking he'll politic a lil and in the end we'll se Ricky & Oscar on or around Sep 16 or May 5 in LV, LA or maybe Manchester??? who knows.

for the kind of $$$ that Oscar brings, he can KTFO me any time. twice on tuesdays even.

but yeah Ricky wouldn't stand a chance against DLH, just too much size, speed, smarts, and experience. but he'd be crazy NOT to fight DLH.

So Hatton says he won't fight Mayweather at 147 but WILL fight De La Hoya at 147? LOL, oh don't get me started on this guy. What a joke Hatton is fast becoming.

My god, how can anyone really like Hatton?

"If Floyd won't fight me Oscar will. Oscar has never dodged anybody"

He just implied Floyd is ducking him! A guy who offered to fight him tons of times and Hatton's reply was always that he needed a few more fights and wasn't ready. This piece of **** should not be supported by anyone.
