    TARVER=Lathargic...WRIGHT=Lathargic... is it just HOPKINS?

    Both Wright and Tarver seemed exhausted midway through the fight.

    BOTH have excellent reasons for there sluggish perforances, and Wright being EXHAUSTED at the end of the fight.

    Wright was going up 10 pounds in weight, Looked soft and a tad out of shape as Steward mentioned, and fought an active fight.

    Tarver had to lose something like 40 or 50 pounds or something, to fight Hopkins because of that movie.

    Another good reason.

    Do you guys think it was just hopkins's clinching and inside fighting that tired Hopkins out? Or are the excuses legitmate?

    I think the excuses are both real, but Hopkins was good in both fights. I think the weight effected WRIGHT more though, as well as the cut. no excuses though

    Sounds good except Hopkins looked world's better against Tarver than he did against Wright. Furthermore, Winky was coming up for this and it showed.

      maybe hopkins is a genius in who he picks to fight..think about it - tarver was coming off the movie deal and had to lose a ton of weight..you know in that fight that tarver looked dead and like a strong wind could blow his ass over...winky was coming up in weight..another sure fire way to be dead for the later rounds...he's never fought that heavy..so you have to say bernard is a master at choosing opponents and where to fight them. i did not see the fight though but i would have predicted that hopkins would win by UD

        Hopkins clinching and good movement just wears down his opponents and when they open up alittle bit, nard gets his hits in.

          He's a master at making fighters look bad. He's got decent movement and GREAT defense.. On top of that, he hits decent, tucks his chin and gives you weird angles. The card as a whole, by the way, pretty damn good. Even the main event lived up to what I expected. Decent little fight. Nothing GREAT, but decent.

            Yeah he leans on them pushes them goes to the body everything to make the opponent slow down and give in.

            No matter what you think of him he's a great fighter and a throw back.

                winky got tired very early in the fight.

                his body looked really soft...those body shots from Hopkins were doing damage.

                i also thought winky takes too much punishment at higher weight classes (at 160+) because even though he blocks most of them, takin those shots on the gloves still rattles his brain, and i think the results will show later in his career.

                his best weight class was 154...he needs to control his diet and go back down to 154 in a healthy way...

                    yea, thats what im saying. this is one of those fights where u have a gut instinct about hopkins winning but you dont want to lay money down...only to be proved right in the end...winky was even flabby against quartey, no offense, he dominated but he took shots and also looked like an older version of winky wright. and at the weigh in hopkins was just the bigger man flat out.
