This thread is crazy. Some of you said that Floyd retired because he saw the comp at WW and that is a freakin joke. When Floyd retired there was no comp. He announced it after the Baldy fight. He had already tried to fight Shane but he said No. Williams was a non factor at that time, Cotto hadnt done crap at WW, and Clottey was also a nobody. You guys act like the WW division has been popping. It just started and it was nothing like that when Floyd moved there or retired. The only guys that were there were Margarito, Zab, & Baldy.
As for saying Floyd will lose to everyone is ******. Anyone who says that doesnt know boxing. How are you going to compare what Cotto did with Castillo? 1st off you could tell that Floyd seriously underrated Castillo and did not expect that tough of a fight. 2nd why has no one else been able to do that? He's too good. He wasnt in his prime then and he adjust better then anyone. You'll never see anyone give him those type of problems again. Also, Castillo was far superior to Cotto. You might think Cotto has that talent but he hasnt proven it. Castillo has been in with alot of elite guys. Cotto hasnt fought anyone except for Zab. You say Cotto beat Zab easier but Cotto did it after Floyd beat him, Baldy beat him, and he was off for over a year. Cotto is also much bigger so its not like the fight is going to be the same. I think its always dumb when people say that a guy beat this person much easier then Floyd did. Well Floyd is a guy who came from 130 while Cotto came from 140 and was super huge at that weight. He should beat a guy more easier but that doesnt make him better at all. Margarito killed Cintron who killed Mathysee, who gave Williams fits but Williams still beat Margarito.
Floyd has seen plenty of guys like Cotto but Cotto has never seen anything like Floyd. He has no D at all, a shaky chin, and is not experinced enough on a world class level. He's not ready for Floyd and they know it. Thats why Arum never ask for that fight. Again, what has any of those guys done for people to say they will beat Floyd? Because Cotto beat Zab & Quintana, now that translates to beating Floyd? He had problems with Paulie and Floyd is way better then him. Williams hasnt beat one good fighter except Margarito and who in the hell has Margarito beat? Nobody except Clottey and everyone thought he wouldve lost that fight if it wasnt for the injury. Name 1 good guy Cintron has beat? Cintron also has been KO by Margarito and Margarito has lost to Williams & Santos?
