Joe Calzaghe has come out this week and labelled the super fight between winky and hopkins as a no-contest, and billed it as boring. He has also come out and said Mundine is a fake champion.

The thing that has annoyed me is the blatant disrespect to other boxing champions. Im not to worried about what he said about Mundine, but calling Hopkins, old and just trying to make money off the back of his name and calling winky useless after moving up two divisions is a fair joke.

I mean does this guy know that he has fought a couple of decent fighters over the past ten years and on top of that does he know he doesn't fight outside of Britain. If this guy had beaten the best in the division regularily during his time as champ, then i would listen. But he hasn't.

Well, it probably won't be a no-contest, in my opinion. It'll be a chess match between two experts at what they do, but he's right about one thing: It'll be boring as hell, if I'm close to right about how it'll play out. We'll have to wait and see.

Anyway, he has his right to his opinion, just like anyone else.

On a video I saw, Calzaghes camp claims that Roy and Hopkins both dodged Calzaghe like I think it was like 10 or 8 years ago when he was calling both of them out. I forget what it was but I think they said hopkins just dodged Calzaghe and Jones priced himself out. The Jones pricing himself out seems to be the most truthful response because Jones does that to anyone he is afraid to fight like having a rematch with Hopkins would forced jones to ask for an unreasonable amount. But I didn't believe it on the video when Calzaghe's camp said that Hopkins wanted no part of Calzaghe. I find that hard to believe because Hopkins is one of the most honest people ever and he has never dodged anyone. Hopkins is a legend, jones jr is a joke. He had great speed but he never had a god damn chin and only relied on his reflexed and his hand-picked opponents. People can talk alot of **** about Calzaghe's resume, yet Jones only has two people on his resume with known names and thats Hopkins and Toney. And toney looked really out of shape in that fight, and the hopkins fight was close and needed a rematch. Jones Jr is a joke, but Floridians will always side with their beloved boxer. Am I a jones jr hater? Yes, I am the guy never had a chin and only relied on his quick reflexes, theres probably people on this forum who could ko roy. Hell, even know he didn't even look that great on the average joe show, actually one of the average joes managed to buckle jones jr back... Thats sad that a professional boxer can get buckled by a non-professional even if he made them look ****** with his speed his weak flawed chin showed against average-joes!!!

I read your post down to the part where you said Hopkins was honest...I guess you didn't see the interviews where he insisted that he won the first fight against Taylor, over and over again.

Not only is he a liar, he's ****** enough to lie to himself. And even worse...he's also ****** enough to believe it. Anybody scoring the fight honestly wouldn't have been able to give it to Hopkins.

Mundine is a fake champ. Hopkins is old. The fight will be boring. Winky might well be useless at LHW - he's a bloody LMW FFS. To everyone. Some people may try to claim it'll be some purists bonanza but they're only saying it to look half way intelligent.

Of course he's saying it all for publicity, but it's all pretty close to the truth.

What Brits?? If Joe Calzaghe and Ricky Hatton were to lose tomorrow, most of these Brit "fans" wouldn't be seen around anymore.

Win or lose, the Brits don't mind. Infact it has been said that we Brits love a loser.

Besides, Hatton and Calzaghe are at the top, thats all we ask - that they do there best and keep on fighting hard.

- One thing guarenteed - If they do lose there next fights, you won't get too Brits crying "oh ... he was washed up!! !!" or moan about there opposition fighting unconventionally and hugging/cheating. Infact you'd proberbly more likely to get a well done. Not all yank boxing fans... but alot of them.
