Anyone here think Vargas can really beat Mayorga ?

    Lets be serious here...
The Vargas that fought Quartey , Trinidad and Delahoya would easily beat Ricardo Mayorga. That was then...this is now.

His last fight where he looked decent but still faded as a fighter was against Javier Castillejo. He didnt look very good in both Mosley fights especially the 2nd fight where one clean left hook sent him to ***** st.

I'm a huge Vargas fan and I hope he can go out with a win and maybe at 162he will look better but even though Mayorga is garbage he can still wing big bombs and if he lands one that is clean on Nando's chin...it might be good night. Vargas will have to fight in close , using his strength on the inside to make it a phone booth fight IMO. I'm betting every Vargas fan out there will be waiting for the first Mayorga punch to land to see how Nando handles it.

This is a 50/50 pick em fight right now...but like I said, had this been Pre Trinidad Vargas...Mayorga would have been outta there easily in 8.

It's a hard pick really. I don't think any of us are at liberty to speculate on hos faded Vargas is simply based on the Mosley fights, because Shane still seems to be in amazing condition for a fighter his age. No question the Vargas of old would definately make Mayorga his prison ***** for 6-8 rounds, but now? It's 50/50 right down the middle but I'm betting that Mayorga wins, gut instinct.

Vargas really needs to get into shape. I would agree that at this point it would be 50-50 on who would win.

LoL, just funny how you mentioned the Vargas that fought Trinidad and Oscar when he lost both of those brutally. You know when you go into the ring with emotions, anything can happen. I think that's why he lost the Oscar and Tito fight. The way this fight is going, the same thing could happen. I think Fernando's downside is letting his emotions get in there with him.

Thats what did him in against Trinidad IMO. His anger and hatred for Oscar was so much that it almost looked like he wanted to stand and trade with Tito just to show Oscar that he fought like a man and that he could give and take. He wanted to show Oscar that he wouldn't run so he chose to slug and it cost him his career.

IMO Vargas could have beaten Trinidad had he boxed intelligently like he did with Quartey. Vargas was a intelligent boxer-puncher.

im expecting this fight to be very entertaining....

i like mayorga, cus he's nuts.....

i dont like vargas, hes a wannabe cholito wankster.....i hate those type of guys who think just cause theyre "mexican"(which they arent...), theyre hard...

but i respect nandito as a fighter.....so i kinda want him to win....but im predicting ricardo mayorga to win by KnockOut...
