I dont know where people get off making Kessler out to be a specimen of technical perfection.

He has a good jab. Thats about it. He is a typical European stand up fighter. He moves like a robot, drops his right hand when he jabs, and telegraphs his right hands like there is no tommorow

Not only does he drop his right hand when he jabs, he pulls back his elbow exposing his liver.

Mark my words, Kessler will be eating left hand counters all night long.

In my opinion, Kessler is a media hype job.



Watch him. Its downright amatureish. People are talking about his hand speed as if he is faster than Joe Calzaghe. After watching the video above, you can see that is not even remotely true.

His defense is lacking. Drops his hand when he jabs. He doesnt slip, he pulls strait back. His upperbody movement is not very good.

He is just a very one-dimensional incomplete fighter.

I've never argued that Kessler wasn't a good fighter, but he's not elite. Calzaghe is, and come fight night that point will be proven yet again. Then we'll go through the same cycle with the next potential Calzaghe opponet with his supporters claiming that Joe will be "exposed" yet again. Kinda like Lacy. You remember what happened then don't you?

Yup...I was one of the only people screaming in media THEN that kessler was the fight and I see this fight going myriad ways. I think Calzaghe is the goods and always has been; one of the best of his generation in any class. I think Kessler has similar potential. I think both are P4P talents right now. I love this fight.
