My early yet Finale Calzaghe-Kessler prediction, (bump it after the fight)

This fight all depends on Kessler's power. If he can keep Calzaghe off him he'll win, if he hits hard enough he'll KO Joe coming in. But to me he doesn't seem to have all that much of a punch

In a slow paced boxing match Calzaghe doesn't have a hope, Kessler will pick him off left, right and centre. Calzaghe has always struggled against stand-up pure boxers (Opreda, Reid, Starie, Woodhall), he doesn't cut off the ring well, can't weave forward or stick the jab (he can flick the jab) or find gaps (you can't hit through gaps when you don't turn your knuckles). His only hope is to stick to Kessler's chest and try to take him out early with his winging hooks, or completely out-work him

I've got a feeling we'll see another Hamed-Barrera, with Kessler being Barrera

Calzaghe boxed out of his skin against Lacy, but he's never ever looked near that sharp in thought and reaction in any other fight and he's not exactly getting any younger (and his hand isn't exactly getting stronger)

I reckon Kessler gets him. Kessler's in his prime. He has some kind of back injuries so he avoids time-waster fights and tries to take lucrative matches/fights that count. Joe hasn't faced many long-range boxers. I think Joe finds himself out of range and, frustrated by the 4th round, he starts waving his right arm about as he does and throwing his left from out of range, falling from southpaw to orthodox. He does that and Kessler picks him to pieces

Mind you, neither of these guys are the best in the division. That's Froch

Froch needs to step up tho before you can call him the best adamu gave him fits, I like froch but he needs to take on someone like Inkin. Kessler hasn't been against a southpaw before, I find Kessler to be a bit slow and I expect Calzaghe to run circles around him.

Calzaghe destroyed Woodhall and beat Reid with one hand.

Make up your mind anyway Juy. You had it a Calzaghe shutout last week.

I think its abit early to say that yet! (Froch in the future "should" be amazing though)

It will definatly be a harder fight than Lacy for Calzaghe (he will never top that) but i think he will win, by UD of course, he doesnt have much power now because of his hands, but i dont mind that, not every fight has to be a knockout to be a good fight. I think Calzaghe - Kessler might be a rematch, caus i think it will end in SD or MD for Calzaghe, and in the rematch Calzaghe will hammer Kessler because Calzaghe could never cope with someone better then him and he would train for every minute of everyday.

I just can repeat: Kessler didn't land anything respectable against Beyer until the knockout. That are 2.5 rounds doing bad against a southpaw who normally is a counterpuncher but was forced to attack by his trainer.
Except Beyer, Kessler never faced a tough southpaw and this will bring him a disadvantage.

Matthew this is horse ****. You only wrote this to embarrass me. You know Calzaghe will have no problem with this.

Dimebar and Nitro Girls said so.

Froch has done nothing to prove that he is the best in the division, unless you count the tough fight he had with the mighty brian magee.

what a **** thread, lets begin with saying that reid(the guy who haters say gave calzaghe more trouble) isnt a stand-up pure boxer, he's a tricky counterpuncher who's best punch is the sneaky overhand right ala hopkins(best style against southpaws...).....and for the record, calzaghe won that fight 8 rounds to 4 at worst....

oh and if that wasnt enough to discredit this thread, the thread starter finishes by saying carl froch is superman............

                  what a joke....

You guys that think Cal will have no problems with Kessler are dreamers , he has one of the best jabs in boxing , he is very tight and well taught , he punches as straight as an arrow , he can fight a full 12 rnds , he can handle hand speed fighters like Mundine who has probably the fastest hands in the division , he has beat 4 southpaws stopping 3 and he is big very big for the weightclass and he is in his prime .

Kessler is nothing like Lacy not even close , Lacy is a lumbering slugger by comparison , if Cal punches wide like he does and carnt solve Kesslers jab he might get stopped !!
