DLH- Good businessman; bad for boxing

I hope its not too hard for people to see what Oscar De La Hoya is doing by wanting to fight Hatton. By fighting Hatton he makes GBP a ****load of money, but he also leaves Shane Mosley as Floyd Mayweather's only option. This opens up the door for GBP to be involved in two of the biggest fights of the year (or next year) instead of one. If Hatton fights Floyd (no money for GBP), then Mosley fights Cotto (money is split with Top Rank).

I say its bad for boxing because PBF-Mosley is going to be a pure boxing match, which might not excite the fans. I'm not saying its not the kind of fight I like to watch, but many people don't want to see boxing (unfortunately). And Hatton-DLH is going to be a one-sided massacre. Hatton is a good fighter, but he stands zero chance against a guy who holds every single advantage over him. Speed, power, chin, defense, etc is all for DLH.

Its also funny that he's now saying he can make 147. When the Mayweather fight was made at 154, DLH gave the reason that he could hardly make 147 years ago.

I agree, and the Hatton's are also bad for boxing if they take that fight

Mosley vs Mayweather is a better fight than Hatton you just don't want Mayweather to fight Mosley b/c theres a good chance he'll lose.

Mayweather-Hatton is a way better fight than Mayweather-Mosley.

I agree Oscar is bad for boxing as of now, and so is Tito. Interesting fights between unbeaten fighters in their primes start to shape at the horizon and they arrive with their millions of dollars to ruin everything.

Even Oscar-PBF was a pretty useless matchup IMO, in terms of excitement.

            what would happen:

            Mayweather TKO Hatton
            Mayweather UD Mosley

            what haters will say if:

mayweather vs. hatton = ducking mosley
mayweather vs. mosley = scared of hatton

it doesnt matter who he decides to fight, he's gonna win regardless, so he's obviously gonna go for the more money fight, cuz floyd doesnt care who thinks he's the best or not, he wants the money, already knowing he's the best...

btw, i got a strange feelin within the next few months theres gonna be posts here sayin mayweather should fight cintron, which will evolve into mayweather is ducking cintron, which will evolve into, mayweather couldnt beat any top welterweight under 30 years old, or sumthin else to that extent... let's see what happens.

Honestly, I'd rather watch the De La Hoya/Hatton and Mayweather/Mosley match ups then JUST the Hatton/Mayweather match up. Atleast two chances of a good fight, instead of one. I don't give a damn who gets the money, either way, I'm gonna end up paying for those fights.

I said this 2 years ago. This guy is a greedy ****. He doesn't give a **** ass about the sport...all he cares about is his gay ass promotion company golden girl productions. Seriously...look at that ****ty undercard he had for DLH - Mayweather. This was the biggest fight since DLH - Tito. That is what...like 5 years????? And the undercard was a piece of garbage. At least put two little guys that can fight but his greedy ass wanted all the money.

DLH brings in the big crowds and brings interest to boxing for the casual fans. For that reason IMO he's good for boxing.

Yes he get's in the way of certain matchups we want to see, but his fights bring interest to the sport. When there's interest in the sport that only means good things.
