Like the article stated, this is a 'win-win' fight for Corrie Sanders because of the money and the high profile name in Evan Fields, eh,.. I mean Evander Holyfield.

If Sanders comes into this fight in shape and motivated, then I give him a good chance of pulling the 'mini upset' against the former champ. Just think for a moment; If Sanders is able to KO Holy or even put in good losing effort, he gets right back into the hw mix very quickly. And with Wlad avenging his losses, what better time for Sanders to 're-emerge!' This would be very good for the division and think it would be just as entertaining....

For Holyfield, I think there are easier or safer fights that would help him get a title shot but, who knows, this may be a good gamble for him....

Yes Holyfield is still an attractive heavyweight to watch. His comeback is impressive...he can beat Sanders on points maybe...but can his old chin handle Corries Power ?

Sanders is pretty quick for an old dude and carries bricks in his fists...
I'm not counting out Holyfield but this isnt the same Evander that took those Lennox Lewis uppercuts well...but then again Evander is surpising me each time he fights.

and both Corrie/Corey's have decent wins, although the white guy wins for putting on the best fights. I don't see this fight going 10 rounds. I'd buy this fight. Two guys who should stay retired going for the KO. Reminds me of Tim Witherspoon vs Jorge Luis Gonzalez

Corrie Sanders has always been a high risk/low reward fighter. I dont know why Holyfield would take this fight at this point in his career, but I'd love to see it. For sure its way safer than fighting Wlad now, which I am sure Holyfield would do if he could. However, Corrie has huge power in the early rounds. If Holyfield can take Corrie's shots, or at least avoid them for a couple rounds, I'd say that this should be a mid/late round TKO for Holyfield. However, Sanders is always dangerous.

BG: "do you think this report is credible"

Good question. I haven't seen it reported anyplace else, have you? As I said, I don't think Holyfield is going to want any part of this at this stage of his career. I hope it's true, but I'm skeptical.

I haven't read anything on this besides this thread. It's probably just rumors but I'm hoping that this fight can be made. I've also heard that up-and-comer Shane Cameron was trying to get a fight with Holyfield for his next fight. We'll just have to wait and see...

I would say that Cameron, whoever he is, is more likely to be selected as an opponent by Holyfield's people. Holyfield is trying to make a comeback not die young, right? OK, not that young...

This was reported in the South African press and I picked it up at good old LH's Corrie Sanders website as per post #1.

Yeah, Holyfield's people would be wise to pick the inexperienced Cameron as an opponent over the much more dangerous and unpredictible Corrie Sanders. Plus, I think one or two the sanctioning bodies have Cameron ranked in the top 15. From what I’ve seen, Cameron is a tough fringe contender, who has a brawling style, but has limited defense and counterpunching skills. However, he seems to have some punching power and is very hungry to get in with a decent opponent. Still, this guy would be a much ‘safer’ and probably more rewarding fight than Sanders…

BG - Ten to one you're right and this guy Cameron is who they want. Still, I hope it's CS, but I doubt it.
