Honestly the physical advantages that Paul had were hard for him to overcome. If anything maybe have started of quicker and like EvilSaint said go to the body earlier.

I think he realized that the shots Williams landed weren't hurting but he was still tentative until the sixth round. A rematch would be a different fight, but does he deserve one? Williams shouldn't be penalized for Margarito's apprehension.

Could it be that he wa**** with a punch that made him respect Williams, so he did not come in earlier?

I think he was surprised and overwhelmed with the sheer punching output of Williams and maybe he hoped that it would sub-side, instead he had to force the issue but was too late in doing so.

That is a fair assessment. I think he got caught a few times early and he respected it. But some steam came off those punches by Williams mid way through the fight so he took more chances.

I think he underestimated the effect on the scoring that Williams 100 plus punches would have and he let Williams take an early lead when he should have jumped on him from the start. Margarito started slow and wasnt aggressive for whatever reason. Rematch? I dont see Williams camp having any of that.
