Thaxton: "I Would Knock Amir Khan Out"

British lightweight champion Jon Thaxton has re-iterated his long-standing challenge to Amir Khan to meet him in what would now be an old-school showdown for two traditional titles following Khan’s win over Willie Limmond on Saturday night. [details]

The sharks begin to circle, Thaxton smells a big payday as well as Khan's blood. Khan would still beat him, if he has at least five more fights beforehand.

Khan’s a more talented boxer than Thaxton, you can’t debate that, but if he’d have boxed the way he did on Saturday night against Jon Thaxton I think he might have found himself losing.

This could turn out to be crushing for Thaxton.

Remember when Audley Harrison KO'd Danny Williams? Everyone thought Danny was shot to **** and Scott Gammer thought he could make a name for himself by beating a big name in Williams.

What happens? Danny re-dedicates himself from all the slack he took in the press and KO's Gammer.

Everyone now thinks Khan is damaged goods. I have a feeling he'll come back stronger, fitter and more determined. There's a saying "Don't wish for too much. It might come back to haunt you".
