I don't hate him because he's black, "cool", rich or great. I hate him because he's a jackass. Put that up as an option, and I'll vote.
Why do people hate Floyd Mayweathers?

Again; Outside the ring has what to do with inside the ring? I mean, on a personal level anyway. Nothing.
He'd probably not like a lot of people, but they would not know it. Floyd is one of the mose humble and respectful men I have met.
I remember when I used to work for Hyatt before going into business for myself. Hyatt here is rated a 4-star hotel, so it's where many celebs stay.
Anyway, in 2005 he and his entourage were at the hotel. Late in the evening, and this was my first week working for the hotel, his entourage (some of them) began to act like maniacs, throwing water balloons into the arcade, racing inside of the arcade etc. Very childish and even more disturbing. Initially, I myself went to the third and fourth floors of the arcade to initiate calm and put an end to the behavior. I was merely hit on and rebuffed, taken lightly based solely on the fact that I'm a woman. I returned back to the front desk and after a while, I sent security to stop the madness since I was not taken seriously. Floyd was not a part of the antics.
Anyway, the next morning Floyd himself came to me and my co-worker who had dealt with the bevahior as well and respectfully and humbly asked if we would forgive him for not stopping the madness himself. He explained that he was a sleep and not aware, but that if any of them were disrespectful to us as women or if we felt as if we were treated inappropriately, he was sorry. He told us he had dealt with the men responsible and that he himself would never knowingly ignore my attempts to restore order in the place I am working.
He said some other things, but the point is that he was very kind and very sorry about behavior that those accompanying him exhibited. I do not think he is a jerk or a moron. I think after realizing so many people "hate" you for whatever reason, naturally you become defensive.
But, based on some of the things he said to us personally, no one wants to be hated. Not even him.Comment

No i dont hate PBF but i do have issues with the guy. He fought good fighters to get people to respect him as a boxer and he now enjoys the reputation of being the best on the planet.
Once he got the rep as the best on the planet, he hasnt done much to solidify that rep people gave him. There are a ton of boxers who he should be trying to beat to justify his claims he is the best. Better than the boxers he has beaten in the first place to get the rep he has now. Better than the Hernandez, Castillos, Corrrales of this world.Comment

Ungrateful by whose standards? It certainly seems everyone here has decided to play judge, jury and exectioner regarding Floyd when NONE of us really know anything about him. All people are a sum total of their experiences and none of us are privy to the life he lived, with the exception of what he divulges, prior to being in the spotlight that would deem it acceptible to have severe dislike on any level. I think more people need to be honest about why "They don't like someone they don't know". While I like to think I am somewhat objective about him and most others, I do think it's overdone the hatred that is thrown his way when none of us knows the man personally.Comment
