Can alfonso gomez be a legit welterweight contender?

I was exaggerating. What I learned last night is that Gomez is better than I thought, and that Marg and Williams are second-class fighters.

Hell no. Gatti just sucks right now. He's not even in the top 20. Gomez is better than I thought, but Gatti would have gotten killed by any top 10 guy last night. He wanted to fight Cotto after the Baldomir fight. Man Cotto would have killed him.

I'm starting to like Gomez alot especially after last night's impressive performance and the way he carries himself when he's interviewed. However, I don't think at this point in his career(he only has 17 wins) he would be able to hang with any of the top ten ww fighters.

He has potential. I've seen all of his fights since the Contender and this is by far the best he has looked. Still Gatti is a journeyman Welterweight at best. He needs to prove it against some other guys first. Andre Berto would be perfect.

Im not sure about becoming a top 10 welterweight but he is showing improvement every fight but ill tell you this much out of all the fightes from both contendors hes been the best out of all i mean who has the other beat that are big names fighter
