You have to love boxing fans

Eveyone has their own opinion even vs washed up fighters

In no other sport do you see such respect brought towards a fighter who is obviously past his prime. I just watched the complete destruction of Arturo "Thunder" Gatti and as much as i love gatti, ( yes i am one of the Gatti lovers) he completly needs to quit but i am still one of the *******s that would love to see him fight again against his own health.......

But Roy Jones JR won me over with the age slows you and makes you weak theory..... Roy showed me he still has what it takes, obviously not what he used be........but he showed he can take out a young up and comer and make them look silly even scoring a late 11th round knockdown...... I love Roy for all he stands for and i love him for the sport of boxing.

I love that i see boxing fans still rallying during current threads over the fights tonight. Tonight saying such things like "Gomez will fade, he is getting tired" and stuff like "Margarito still has to that punch" this is the reason i love boxing fans, not even a dominating proformance from the opposition gets them stired, its always a win or look good winning situation (if its someone they are routing for) its never a my god you suck you should retire. I might be wrong maybe some boxing fans feel this way and hell i am probably one of them watching gomez destory one of my idols in gatti......

But if something is to be said i will always remember Gatti in the way he was, not the way he retired...

Just like i remember his trainer in Ward... Thank god for ward in Gattis last fight not pulling any punches and god knows most of those in wards career came back with repricusions(spelling).. But seriously this was simply the dawning of a career of a punch drunk fighter.

As brutal as the Gatti-Gomez fight was I kinda enjoyed it. Gatti looked like Rocky Balboa with all the clean shots he was taking and made Gomez look like a 'world beater.' As for seeing Gatti fight again(like you hinted at), I hope that he retires and never sets foot in the ring again(as a fighter). With the hot wife he has, why would he ever want to?...(I'm rambling because I'm tired)

no i agree i wouldnt want to see him in the ring again.......

Gatti is the kind of person that will never know when to hang it up just like if you listen to theMisfits (punkrock) they dont know either its not an easy decisioun to make and it isnt for us on forums, its simply for the person that has to make these decisions all we are is a simple reclusive abjuration for those who allow themselves punishment and further banishment from the eyes of fans...... am i disapointed yes..........
do i agree with your post absolulty i hope he retires and i hope he made enough from this fight to, cause if money is his primary goal i will never pay for another gatti fight as long as i live but i do i love and respect him as a fan yes!!!.. cause after alll taht is what the forums are based am i not right....... fan,,,, power!?

His wife was hot. It's good to see he's retired and doesn't have to punishment anymore. The interview he had with Max almost made me cry. Seeing him talk to Max and then turn get a hug from Ward and then his wife consoling him and you could see he was crying. It was a great night of boxing, but sad as well.
