Floyd did duck Mararito...
Foolish post. Williams showed that reach, height and a high output will beat Margarito. Floyd is 5' 7" and is at a significant reach disadvantage to Tony. Not to mention he's naturally a much smaller man. How do many of you think Mayweather would fare against Williams?? I think Williams will be the NEW most avoided man in boxing...

If Floyd ducked Margarito he had a good reason to do it and it has nothing to do with Margarito's boxing skills (well, not directly). Margarito is a very dangerous fighter who isn't very rewarding. The risk in fighting him is bigger than the reward. Not only Mayweather has "ducked" him, ALL top WW have. Only contenders like williams will fight him now. Margarito had a chance to choose Williams or Cotto. He must have thought "well, if i go to the body on this little guy i'm getting an easy enough TKO victory" I did also think he would. What nobody was expecting was Williams managing to stay on the outside almost the whole fight, that ruined Margarito's plan. Failure in going to the body made life most complicated for Margarito as he had to persue Williams throughout the entire fight landing very few clean shots. Best round for Margarito was the 11th but his plan was to get 11th rounds every round.
Now with one more loss even less top WW will want to fight Margarito.Rules of the market.

of course you can make the argument that williams outworked him

but the guy didnt hurt margarito at all

why do I get the feeling you scored Hopkins-Taylor I for Hopkins? Hopkins did all the major damage, but he also lost 7 of the first 8 rounds and thus the fight. You just proved your worth or lack thereof with that comment.

Margarito won the fight....total robbery...williams was just throwing slapping shots all day and was holding every round...the referee should be fired..he kept giving williams warnings for holding ..I counted 11 warning..he should have taken 1 point away at least....but it's hard to beat a robbery.....williams should be called the black hatton...hit and hold ..hit and hold....
