No, I am serious. I'm not fooled by HBO's crap and I've seen enough fights throughout history (and of those two particular fighters) to see how overrated the trilogy is.

The first fight was a classic. The last two were schoolings. Gatti won the 2nd fight 10-0 (or 9-1) and won the last fight 8-2. The only 2 rounds Ward won was when Gatti hurt his hand and when he scored a KD after getting outboxed (as usual) for the first 2:55 of the round.

And Gatti fanatics would probably be the least likely to get offended since they're more likely to have seen his fights that were terrific and actually close (unlike the last two Ward fights) and very competitive.

the Gatti-Ward 1 made me a big boxing fan. That is still the best fight that I have ever seen.

Not sure why this thread was bumped, but I agree with the poster who said this trilogy is overrated. One great fight does not make a great trilogy. The last two bouts were pretty one-sided boxing displays on Gatti's part.He didn't want to go with war with Ward like the first time out.

Gatti's fights with Ivan Robinson, and Micky Ward's fights with Augustus and Diaz were far superior fights than the last two Gatti-Ward fights.
