New Main Event On Saturday: "Punishment N' Merchant"

Undefeated commentator Larry Merchant stepped in for Antonio Margarito who was a late-show at today's "Pride N' Punishment" press conference on the sunny pier in Santa Monica. Merchant, who looked to be in great shape, offered a few good body shots to the challenger, undefeated Paul Williams, during the pose and stare down.

Margarito would later show to offer a few good promises: "I'm not looking for a decision. This fight is going to end in a knockout. He's going down in the 7th"

Although Williams shows clear respect for Margarito, he too promised victory: "Margarito says he's going to knock me out in 7, I guess that means I have to take him out in the 7th." Williams also brought up the current reports regarding his health and training status, "I don't know where all these people got their information from. I didn't go to no hospital, though I did send a few sparring partners to the hospital. They said I might not make weight, I don't know where that came from either, I've never had a problem making weight. I'm not injured, I'm not sick, everything's perfect."

WBO Welterweight Champion Antonio Margarito and Paul Williams get it on this Saturday, July 13, at the Home Depot Center in Los Angeles, live on HBO.

Funny how Merchant stepped in. Would have loved to see that. I can't wait for this fight only two days away and both will be slugging it out.
