I'd rather see Klitchko give a lesser known fighter a shot at being in a big name fight, just to stay busy while he waits for one of these guys who will currently be unavailable to get a free fight date with. I wouldn't mind seeing Mesi/Klitchko, or someone like that. In fact, the more I think about it, the more I think Mesi might stand a solid chance against Klitchko. He's fairly skilled, though hittable, packs a wallop, and I've never seen him gassed after 5. If he kept his head, and waited to find an opening, he might just catch Wlad. On thing about Mesi, he's a great finisher. If he hurts Wlad, he might just end the fight with a KO, and a brand new career.

The thought of seeing Briggs in the ring again just makes me want to take a nap. Holyfield shouldn't fight again, ever. Sanders is too old and fat, and Rahman...well, I like fights to last more than 2 minutes, and I think that's about how long it'd take for Klitchko to put an end to the Rock.

There is no way Wlad should fight Mesi. If Jirov almost killed Mesi, imagine what a couple of Wlad's right hands will do.

Mesi isn't any more likely to suffer a bleed than any other fighter. All the bull**** that's gone on about the incident is highly exaggerated. The bleed he had was microscopic, and doesn't put him at any more or less risk than before it happened. Most fighters who have headaches for a day or two after the fight (a good number) have this condition. The difference between them and Mesi, is that they don't usually have an MRI or CT scan done, and even if they do, the bleed is usually so tiny that it doesn't show up.

One of my best friends, and one of the guys I watch fights with is a doctor, and we've discussed this over and over and over and over again. I was skeptical at first, actually, about whether Mesi should fight again. He's the one that convinced me (along with some internet research) that it wasn't a concern. The boxing comission just had a kneejerk reaction, and would rather end Mesi's career than accept a 1 in 1,000,000 chance that it could happen again on a larger scale to the same fighter and cause severe brain damage, or death.

I worry for Holyfields health, but out of the choices Id pick him.

It's not so much his health as his boxing abilities. I never thought Mesi to be anything special, especially after his struggle with Barrett and fight with Jirov. That's the same Barrett who was knocked out by Valuev, btw. He stands no chance against Wlad, I'd rather see Holyfield out there, he would make it compatible at least.

.....Come on man!!! As they said in the movie Highlander, "there can be only one". It must be Corrie Sanders. Wlady can take that **** and his lightening fast hands. I wanna see Wlad take flush shots, handle them, and then beat Sanders down. If he does then he won't lose until he decides to retire at the age of around 38. When it's all said and done he will go down as an ATG for avenging those two loses and beating every up and comer out there for the next several years.

Holyfield's been through too many wars, and at his age, is far more likely to be seriously injured than a Mesi.

Mesi is young, in decent shape, and likes a scrap. He's also pretty smart, and usually pretty good at finding a way to put leather on another fighter. I don't know that he'd have a legitimate chance at winning (other than a puncher's chance), but I'd give him far better odds than I'd have given Brewster. And win or lose, I guarantee he'd make it an entertaining fight.

It doesn't take years of brutal fights to get injured in boxing. So many guys who fought 50, 100 bouts, there's absolutely nothing wrong with them but other guys like this fighter from Chicago got serious brain damage from a blow landed on him during sparring, he can't even talk right, or walk, he uses a wheelchair.

                      1. why fight sanders? hes a fat (243lbs), old (41 years old), no talented golfer who boxes part time. sanders is old news.

                      2. shannon briggs is retired and his last two fights have been truely horrible performances. some people think wlad has stamina issues. briggs has ****ing asthma, he can barely get past the 3rd round. wlad takes him apart, just like brewster.

                      3. rahman is just like sanders: old (35 in november), fat (261lbs!), lazy, and the very picture of inconsistant. rahman is old news.

                      4. i really hate to suggest holyfield/wlad. but hes the only one on that list who is really eligable and would be a real fight (i cant believe i just said that). holyfield is hot right now. 4-0 with 2 KOs in his comeback trail and hes looked great in his fights. but wlad is in his prime and is considerably larger, younger, stronger, faster, and by now more technically sound. this would be a slaughter.

with brewster out of the way, and with maskaev, ibragimov, peter, and chagaev all occupied, wlad's options arent very good. i'd suggest oliver mccall or even vladimir virchis. i know they arent great matches but like i said, wlad's options are very limited right now.

                      he should have unified earlier.

And he'd still pummel you into pudding inside of ten seconds.
