    Marquez bros.

these two poor guys are sooooooo underrated. two most underrated fighters on this forum for sure. everybody says barrera / pacquiao are soooooo good, marquez is 1-0-1, and he doesnt ever get a mention
raf. has now cleaned up two weight divisions fighting all of the best fighters. also i think his fight with izzy is worthy for foty mentioning.
who do these guys have to beat to get recognized here?
    why are they so underrated?

I don't know if Nacho really puts them in position to become big names. I mean he's one of the best if not the best trainer in the world, but his managerial skills can be questioned at times. Im with you both are superb boxers and can mix it up if they have too. I feel these two fights now with Vasquez will help out Rafa's legacy. JMM was tired of waiting to see what was going to happen with Pac and all the promotional stuff so he's taking the fight with Barrios. I hope he gets the fight with Pac, just so it can be settled as to who's the best SFW in the world. A win over Pac would put JMM as one of the best of his generation.

Those that follow boxing know Rafael Marquez is the real deal. He beat Too Sharp Johnson 2x , knocked Tim Austin out of the ring, and went up and made Vazquez' face look like Rocky Dennis from the movie Mask. He is well schooled with his defense but also a risk taker. All his fights are exciting and he has yet to be disappointing. On the other hand his brother JMM is too technical , too defensive and relies on the counter punch which can lead to boring fights. JMM had a chance to shine back in 99 but stunk out the joint against Norwood. He is one of the best in the world no doubt about it, but his style takes away from his marketability from fans who prefer aggresive and toe to toe action.(Morales,Barrera)

I agree. I think rafael marquez is definitely in the top 5 p4p. I think some people don't like juan manuel's style very much, as hes a mexican some people just think he gonna come toe - toe and have wars. But he's a very good counter puncher and all round boxer.

These two are among my very favorites. Never a dull moment, both willing to trade, both have two-handed power....two of the best things in boxing today. I actually favor the older brother (only very slightly), simply because of his amazing counterpunching skill. If you swing at him, you will get hit. Little brother is learning quick, though.

I agree, though. Underrated in the boxing world.

As close as the Barrera-Marquez fight was IMO I think Marquez really resurrected his career with that win, still undderrated but earns all kinds of respect in my book.
