I Want Johnathon Banks vs. Enzo Macc

im gonna go ahead and assume here that macca will defeat the big truck on the 21st.. not that it is a foregone conclusion by any means, but wayne has been inactive since losing to jones and i think hes bitin off a little more than he can chew...

that being said, Johnathon Banks, imo the top american cruiser, successfully defended his trinket WBO NABO belt on the klitschko undercard (and got some nice HBO facetime in wlads post fight interview) he has reeled off 5 victories in the past year against nondescript competition since winning the come from behind fight of 2006 over eliseo castillo on wednesday night fights... his record stands now at 17-0 (13 Kos)

considering haye will most likely move up, the odds of he and enzo meeting as cruisers seems slim... so why not make what could turn out to be the most exciting fight the division has to offer??

both guys are big hitters with suspect chins... i think this fight would be an awesome undercard for an HBO main event cept for the fact that itd probably upstage it pavlik/miranda style...

banks is a top-5 guy with the WBO and may end up being mandatory challenger next anyway..

Lets Get it On!!! I want J. Banks bringing the belt back and defending it here in detroit!

It would be an interesting fight, but Enzo could easily end up losing to Wayne Braithwaite. Big Truck could still have something left (he isn't exactly ancient). Enzo is exciting but untested.

since when have the WBO enforced mandatories on a Frank Warren fighter?

i'd like macca to get a testing fight like this, but i can't see it happen just yet. too much risk for too little reward....the only reason macca is fighting braithwaite is that Frank thinks he's past his peak but will legitimize his cruiserweight title.

i even think a fight against cunningham is more likely than banks.

yeah, i the fact that braithwaite is the best guy macca has fought plus hes a southpaw makes it anything but a sure thing...

i dont think braithwaite would hesitate to fight banks should he win.... but it wouldnt be as exciting a fight as banks/macca

That would be cool for Banks to get a fight with Enzo, but lets see if he gets past Brathwaite and then lets see if Warren would take that kind of risk.

I like Enzo. Working with the Calzaghe camp will improve him no end as I still think he's pretty raw, even if he's still good enough to beat anyone. The Braithwaite fight will be a real acid test to see what level he's going to compete at.

That all pretty much goes for Haye and all Neither have really stepped up to face genuine class before so both fights will be very interesting.

I'm not even all that high on Enzo, but Banks is nowhere near ready for a fight like this. He needs at least another year of seasoning - and a subtle, yet progressive upgrade in competition - before taking on Top 5 cruiserweights.
