The contracts are signed, the date is set and the venue is booked. Former champions Fernando Vargas and Ricardo Mayorga will collide on September 8 at the Staples Center. The contracted weight will be 162-pounds. Vargas, who sometimes gets as high as 200-pounds between fights, will be the much bigger and stronger man. Mayorga fought as high as 160-pounds when he met Felix Trinidad in 2005, and was physically beaten up by the larger man. Vargas will be making his third appearance at a weight of 160 and above. Ahhmm... isn't Mayorga the guy who gets KO'd just about everytime?
And Vargas is nuts, he doesn't need this fight, he has the money. Does he really want to retire in a wheelchair? I mean, enough already for him. He's taken some serious beating and all and still he's coming for more.

Vargas is the type of fighter who was easy to dislike, but his dislike always made for good fights, but at some point i began to ask myself the same. Why continue to take beatings, hes given his career everything he could give it, just walk away.Ahhmm... isn't Mayorga the guy who gets KO'd just about everytime?
