I don't think that Wlad is a "suspect" champ at all, in fact in my opinion he may well go on to become the greatest heavyweight champion in history. He'll prove it tomorrow, but then i expect we'll just hear more excuses - "Brewster had a bad eye, Brewster hadn't fought in a long time, Brewster took a dive", etc. We'll see.
ww
I will definitely agree with you on that point, Wolfie. Wlad is already, IMO, the greatest. Even greater than his brother. But the haters will alwasy be there, no matter who he beats.Comment

No he wouldn't. Did you see their fight?
Maskaev Schooled Tua for 11 rounds and had the fight in the bag. But ****** Maskaev thought he should still go after Tua and got caught and KTFO.
And back then, Tua was in his Prime and Undefeated. If they fight again, Maskaev EASILY outboxes Tua.
Seriously, I suggest you watch their fight (Youtube)Comment

The point I always try to make is, race has nothing to do with boxing ability. It has to do with level of fitness, training, strength, stamina, and most important of all, persistance and the hunger to succeed.
The best boxers often come from poverty: Jack Dempsey and Rocky Marciano for example. Because there is a lot less racism toward black people in the US nowadays then there was 40 years ago, fewer black people are growing up in poverty. But there still is widespread serious poverty in the former Soviet states. It seems people who grow up poor often have a greater desire to succeed, an important factor in becoming a top boxer.
The sad thing is, CJ, that there is still an enormous amount of racism TOWARDS white people from black people.
Where I work, Im generally very quiet and keep to myself. Consequently,
I have a way of sort of being forgotten. Now the vast majority of the ethnic makeup of my workplace the black female, and you would not believe the unbelievable things I have heard these people say, and without any sort of embarrassment.
It's been my observation that black people in general, especially in groups, make it very easy for people to hate them as a race.Comment

Two wrongs don't make a right as I said, gentlemen.
Like I've stated many many times, I just haven't bought Klitschko's act yet. He's had three loses and perhaps a lucky escape against TOS. He hasn't had any defining wins yet. He has not avenged one of his defeats or showed courage over any adversity in the ring. He has not become an undisputed or majority champion in a weak era of heavyweight boxing.
Now is that racist or just telling it like it is? One guy even said he can become the greatest heavyweight of all time and you guys are the ones saying other people are unreasonable? Lennox Lewis just about gets into the top 10 all time heavies in most people's lists for goodness sake.
What's happening here is Klitschko's hardcore fans are actually digging their own graves by making outlandish statements and nuthugging Klitschko to the extent were it becomes unpalatable to most normal fans. It's got to the stage that I actually want Brewster to beat him because of this when I wouldn't have given a damn otherwise.Last edited by paul750; 07-06-2007, 03:26 PM.Comment

Hey, look.. I'm very far from racist..
But until the Eastern Euros came to dominate.. no one complained about the division.. even after Lewis left.
If it wasn't for the Soviets, Ruiz / Byrd / Brewster / Rahman would still be champions and no one would have complained.
Now all these guys (except for Brewster) have been Knocked the f...k out by we all know who, and all of a sudden we are facing the weakest division of all time.
I disagree.. just because all the new faces took over, doesn't mean the division is weak. I see it as full of new talents, talents who need to establish and prove themselves.
Where are the top, non-ex-Soviet contenders (Peter, Brock, Brewster) ?These guys are still there.. still in their prime..
Lets see what happens tomorrow with Brewster.Last edited by !! Mr. Soprano; 07-06-2007, 03:31 PM.Comment

White folx? I love it when those people say crap like that. Reminds me of a old UPN sitcomAs for this being the weakest in heavy history, I doubt that. It's funny how the heavyweight division ONLY starting getting weak when all the brothas starting getting that ass spanked
Hell Ali could barely get by Doug Jones. Joe Frazier should of lost to Bonavena had they fought with a 10-point must system in their 1st fight after being put on his ass twice. I think Corrie Sanders and Lamon Brewster would go right through Jones or Bonavena.
