Do you think that one day there will only be one belt per weight class

in the future if the sanctioning bodys of boxing decide that the extra belts are doing nothing for the sport and boxing does'nt have much hype anymore because of these belts?

Or will we have all these really screwed up belts forever?

I think having one belt is a big step for boxing to regain fans. I think that having like sometimes 4-5 'champions' per weight class turns off the fans. A belt should signify the champion, period.

I think it will be this was for awhile though. The alphabet orgs make ALOT of money just on sanctioning fees alone.

I disagree...I think all the belts are a good idea. You win the NABF and your garunteed minimums. It makes it possible for fighters to actually make a living instead of getting dodged like Hagler did...he didnt win one till like 42-0 and ****.

The belts open up alot of doors IMo.

        No.

Even in the old days they had more than one champion, although it was much more reasonable than it is today.

Just curious. Does that difference in a purse offset the sanctioning fees? I know those fees are not cheap because when Baldomir beat Judah he did not get the belt because he did not pay the sanctioning fees. He stated he did not pay because he could not afford it.

I doubt they will go to one belt, unfortunately the men who run those organizations probably make good cash.

They'll always have more sanctioning belts since they equal more money

One of the sanctioning bodies or a new sanctioning body would have to establish itself as far superior to all the others, that's the best I think that could happen. I doubt it ever would though.
