Pound for pound Hatton is far better than De La Hoya.

Pound for pound, it's a possibility, but if the two ever met.. Hatton would get hurt, badly.

i think hatton is a much better fighter than oscar right now and dlh gave mayweather a very tough fight. some people even though he won. if hatton is the better fighter than he has enough to beat maywather.

I think that De La Hoya would beat Hatton because of the additional size, but if weight wasn't an issue Hatton would walk through him.

If weight wasnt an issue DLH would KHTFO. De la Hoya much more power than Collazo and he had Hatton on ***** street.

No. Oscar has more experience and is a smarter fighter. Oscar comes forward and works. He doesn't throw 2 or 3 punches and holds. Oscar fought a smart fight against Floyd and took some rounds since Floyd never threw many combinations. Both Oscar and Hatton come forward. I'd take Oscar at 154 and 147 if Oscar could still make that weight. I think Oscar gave Floyd a better fight than Hatton could.

What in the name of the good lord does Collazo's power have anything to do with this discussion? Kostya has more power pound for pound than De La Hoya and Hatton took his best shots. It doesn't make any difference because De La Hoya isn't Kostya Tszyu, and every fighter is different.

I am often confused by pound-for-pound when the two guys are so close in weight.

If that was Hatton in the ring on May 5th, he would not have seen the late rounds.

He would have seen the late rounds but he would have lost the fight. Hatton's style is affected by slight shifts in weight, and De La Hoya is a big Jr Middleweight, having won titles at 160. I think De La Hoya as it stands would be a bit too much for Hatton. But only a bit.
