  • I agree with peroxide that Hatton could KO Mayweather. For all those Floyd fans who say Hatton hasn't got a chance, go back and look at the Hatton Tsyzu fight. If Hatton can execute the same fight plan, then I think he'll be able to frustrate Floyd, wear him down and get a late KO. I don't think any of Mayweather's opponents up till now have had anything like Ricky's ability to stick to his man and pile on the pressure. If you look at the 1st Castillo - mayweather and Mayweather - De la Hoya you can see that it is possible to rattle Mayweather using pressure and Ricky isn't going to stand there looking at Mayweather half as much as those two fighters did. He's going to be coming forward all the time.

Having said all of that though, it would be childish to deny that Mayweather also has the ability to outbox Ricky in exactly the same way he has done to virtually every opponent up till now. He's a great fighter. It is also true that Hatton hasn't been impressive for a while now, almost beaten by Collazo, average against Urango and no doubt about it, Castillo WAS shot. The question for Ricky, which I suppose only he and his camp know the answer to, is whether the excuses he gave for those poor performances (particularly Collazo, bloated sluggish, short notice of weight etc) are true, or whether in fact he has lost something since the Tszyu fight. If so then it is going to be hard for him and I see a Mayweather UD. If Ricky has still got 'it' and can still be all action for twelve rounds like he used to, then I don't think mayweather is going to be able to live with him. One thing is for sure though, Hatton has NO chance of a points decision if the fight is any way close, so in my opinion he HAS to knock Mayweather out.

So its either a Mayweather UD or Ricky Hatton by late KO.

I by the way, am a brit and a hatton fan, but I'm not blind to his faults either.

    • I think that Hatton would have more of a chance if he had better speed. I mean pressure works against Floyd, but he works better with speed. I mean with Judah, he was obviously getting to Floyd in the early parts, because he had tremendous speed. Castillo and De La Hoya both had good speed.

Though with Hatton it's more of a dash in, hit you a bunch of times and then hold you up. When Hatton dashes in I think he'll get potshotted by Mayweather and then Mayweather will circle around him and throw combinations. That or he could just circle around him. I mean I think Hatton could possibly wear him down, but I just don't see it happening.

      • Do another poll.........

        This time ask the question......

        Who is American or British...

        1. American.
        2. British.

I bet the results of both polls would be identical.

Can we have a poll where only non Americans and non British can vote ?

I'm British, so i say Hatton is going to be arrested on Dec 9th by the Vegas ****cide squad.

        • Am british and i dont see how hatton is going to beat a fighter in his prime like Mayweather, I hope he does but i cant see it.

Calzaghe just showed recently that speed kills in boxing and Mayweather for me has a lot of it to burn, I which Hatton had fought someone in there prime with speed before this fight...That would have helped

If you cant see it dont mean it aint there !

Hattons gonna fight for 6 rounds with one thing on his mind, PBF's ribs.

Hatton is shorter and less agile around the ring, but Mayweather wont be able to hold it with Ricky inside close up.

Watch the rib shots, they ****ing hurt man !
