How good are Paul Williams and Margarito???

Margarito has a hell of a chin or a Mike Tyson one hard hit boom chin?

Margarito has a excellent chin but he can be rocked by good shots early in a fight once he gets warmed up and going after 3-5 rounds his chin is rock solid though.

Margarito is a very solid fighter. I cant say how good he really is because he still hasnt fought that one great fighter. The only one that I think is really good is Clottey and you still dont know how to judge that fight. Clottey killed him early on and then supposedly broke his hand. Now did he really get hurt or did Margarito just star to come on strong and overwhelm him like he has done so many before him? I would pick Margarito by KO over Cotto but I wouldnt be surprised if Cotto killed him because he still has major flaws with his speed, no D, and wild swinging.

Ive said all year that everyone needs to shut up about FOTY because it hasnt happened yet. This fight will clearly be the FOTY for however long it last.

No one can really saw how good he is. Like Margarito he hasnt fought that 1 good fighter yet but Margarito is more proven then him. Williams is a guy who I think could be the best guy out there behind Floyd or he could just be another green guy that will get exposed by stepping up too soon or by just being too flawed. He is a freak like we havent seen since Hearns. Margarito did kill Cintron in 5 rounds and you could argue that Williams is at that same level. I however think Williams is better but he worries me because his frame is so long that it looked like he was about to tip over in his fight with Matyhsee when he get hit sometimes.

Williams is not a brawler. He is a boxer/puncher. He has boxing skills but he punches non stop. He's smart because he's taller then everyone and he uses his jab non stop. Margarito is basically just a brawler but he's not all out crazy like Mayorga. He has a little structure. Still, he throws mostly all power shots and swings wide alot so you can catch him down the pipe and beat him to the punch. Thats what Williams does best and he's fast while Margarito is slow. Both guys are huge and both guys throw a 100 punches a round. Margarito is known for his slow starts and Williams comes right at the gate throwing and setting the tone. He's also a very slick southpaw. Your going to see 2 giant WW's that look like MW's, both throw non stop, both could care less about D, both guys are using this fight to prove that they are the elite, and both guys have sparred together and hate eachother. Its also a righty vs a southpaw so somone will get caught clean. This will be non stop action from the opening bell and you wont want to miss it. I think it could be the best fight in a long time.

Margarito does hit like a truck which makes up for his speed. He has very heavy hands that can hold you in place until the 2nd shot comes

yet another good post. i dont see williams being able to hang in that war, margarito at this point is too strong and rugged for the unproven williams. this will be a learning experience for williams and will show why so many people think margarito is the best at 147

as for how good they are, margarito is a beast. yeah he throws looping punches, hes slow and doesnt have great footwork and has a poor defense..but you could hit him with a sledgehammer and he wouldnt go down..plus his workrate is amazing and his hands are decievingly heavy. hes a monster at 147 and can pretty much wear down anyone he fights..even if it doesnt look pretty in the process

he nearly stopped clottey late but clottey has an air tight defense. paul williams has no defense and will be eating shots.// no way will he be able to take those shots for 12 rounds, no matter how good williams may become in the future, its just not gonna happen. williams will fall from the amount of damage taken before margarito does, and thats all there is to this fight. nothing more and nothing less
