No way have you seen that fight in full if that's your take on it.

Benn lost to Watson when he was young and naive. Later in his career he was well capable of beating Watson.

Nobody should ever mention the Collins fights when assessing Benn. He was done by then.

I can't pick any of the 3 above eachother, they were all superb in their own way.

Then benn on the ropes taking punishment

Then Benn crying in his brother's arms

And what middle rounds? Didn't the fight end about round 6 or 8 or summin like that?

Oh yeah, seen both of them, cant remember every detail tho, may rewatch if i get the time, for me eubank deffo outboxed him, the second fight benn really had him in trouble and won that fight in my opinion, i can remember a bit more about that one cos i seen it a few times, i saw the 1st one a while back

Eubank was a better fighter skill wise for me.

I was cheering for Eubank in the 1st fight but I think I had Benn up by a round before the stoppage. It was a close, brutal fight with plenty of shifts in momentum. Neither fighter was outboxed.

Eubank was my favourite of the 3 but he lost the 2nd Benn fight and was extremely lucky in both Watson fights.

He was still perfectly capable of beating them. Like Shanus said, he was just too inconsistent. On his best days Benn would have registered victories over them all.

I dont think he beats a prime chris eubank, i think its a bad style match up for benn, and that benn fought as well as he could in the second fight and didnt offically win, perhaps thats the reason why they didnt fight a third time, Benn from what i remember was alot less emotional in the 2nd and was more controlled, i dont think Eubank fought his best in that second fight.

But for me skills for skill, Eubanks was better, he was better defensviely and was more well thought out as a fighter.

And from the highlights i have seen (obviously i am no expert on this) i am inclined more and more to think Watson may have actually been the most skilled out of all three guys, though im not totally sold on that yet.

Nobody is dis*****g what you're saying though. All Shanus said was that Nigel Benn had it within him to quite comfortably beat anyone else 'on his day'. Which you disagreed with. Nobody is saying that he'd beat everyone 'prime for prime'.

Yeah but the orginal question of the thread is "Benn n Eubank- who was the best"

So im giving my reasoning for that answer.

That was your original response though TS, people are referring to your reply to Shanus.

                    Unfortunately

Technical skills debating ability = Stevie Collins punching power

haha, only kidding, Collins couldn't punch for ****, he was a built on pure stamina and chin - you're debating is fine if you make the original thread and then duck out....

To be honest, i cant see the problem with my opinion, Steve Collins was not a skilled fighter, he beat past it benn and eubank, so you have to count that against both fighters.

However for me, the fact that Eubank (perhaps luckilly) stopped michael Watson, who stopped nigel benn,

And the fact Eubank stopped Benn in their first fight

And my opinion that eubank was a better skilled fighter than Benn.

Is what gives eubank the edge to me.
