Can someone better explain this FILLIPINO vs MEXICO world cup Thing?!?!?!?!?!

First of all, does anybody know when its taking place, if thats known yet?

And secondly, Is only those low level fighters?

I mean, Penalosa-Gonzalez is a hell of a fight, as is Ponce De Leon-Bautista.

But those arent exactly fighters that would constitute this much attention, right?

I hear there is very high demand for tickets for the event.

So is Pacquiao-Barrera or Pacquiao-Marquez II gonna headline the whole thing?

Or is it just these guys? which isnt bad btw, but for this much attention i just thought there would be a super-main event

right now the heaviest pinoy fighter would probably be in the middleweight divison and they suck. welterweight fighters are respectable but not yet world class. small fighters are exciting to watch. more action more movement more dynamic. i know you'd say winky is more exciting over that but the majority doesnt. the headliner is de leon-bautista. obviously it appears to the hispanic-fili8pino demographic and in california that's a big segment. i know its in august in sacramento not sure about the exact date.

Its on HBO after dark. Thats awesome considering that this card will be shown free on HBO. If it were headlined by Pac/Barrera than it would be PPV. You musta thought this fight was on PPV. Its free and tickets are affordable considering the entertainment value of the fighters on this card. I think A.J. Banal is on this card as well. Except for Gerry P / Gonzales, expect knockouts in every bout. Not to mention a high intensity crowd of both Pinoys and Mexicans who have big populations in sactown.

this World Cup Idea of GBP is great !!

if the Philippines put up a good show here, it will open more doors for Pinoy fighters to fight in the states...
