I honestly do believe that Winky will put on somehwhat of a clinic I really do, I see Winky winning at least by 8 rounds to 4
Bernard Hopkins vs. Winky Wright (public poll)

I think alot of people want Hopkins to win, but if you actually look at Winky and they way he fight its very unlikely.
Winky keeps his range constant, stays in his shell, and pumps out a deceptively fast and stiff jab at arbitrarily random intervals.
He doesnt telegraph his punches. He doesnt have a rythm so you cant really time him.
He doesnt have any holes in his defense, his jab is very stiff, and he doesnt expect to knock anyone out.
He just basically frustrates you into submission, and if that doesnt work, he makes sure you dont win.Comment

I'm going with Hopkins. One could argue that that's because he's from my hometown and he's my favorite fighter but I beg to differ. Hopkins is smarter than Wright because for all of his tactical skill, Wright stays in his defensive shell. I think Hopkins will lose the first 3-4 rounds, then start opening up and pressing the action.
Hopkins will chase Wright around and apply pressure and throw punches from all different angles. The move up in weight is also a factor you must consider if picking Wright. Either way it's a very close fight stylewise no matter how you slice it and it should make for a controversial decision.Comment

in the presser Hopkins was saying that july 21st will be like the joppy fight...dominating winky in that fashion...if thats the case...
I expect Hopkins to maul his way through winky's shell...Bernard's going to smother winky's punches and nail him with piercing combos he's known for...if I were Ricky Hatton I'd watch this fight and get tips on how to really hold n hit...not HUG n hit...
Hopkins by Majority Decision lol....I don't think anyone has ever predicted majority? ha...but anyways, I guarantee he's going to do what I stated above...and plus, how else are you going to beat Winky?Last edited by RisAri0; 07-20-2007, 03:05 AM.Comment
