    TR-GBP Possible Fights ...

What do you think of these fights ??

i am specially excited on the developments of PAC-JMM 2 and Sotto Guzman...

Jose Luis Castillo (Top Rank) vs. Demetrius Hopkins (Golden Boy) – All of us with visibility in at least one eye know that Steve Forbes beat Demetrius Hopkins. The judges took victory out of Forbes' hands but we cannot blame Hopkins. The young nephew of legendary Bernard Hopkins showed his grit by staying with the veteran Forbes and actually rallying in the late rounds.

Some think Castillo is shot, some do not. This would be a great fight to find out. Lets face it, Castillo is a high risk/low reward fighter for anyone at junior welterweight and he will have trouble getting big time fights. Hopkins might be one of the best names Castillo could get in the ring and at the same time he would provide an excellent test for the up and coming Hopkins.

Oscar De La Hoya (Golden Boy Promotions) vs. Miguel Cotto (Top Rank) – If I need to explain why this fight would be made, then you know nothing about the business of boxing or the financial upside of a Puerto Rican fighting a Mexican.

Shane Mosley (Golden Boy) vs. Joshua Clottey (Top Rank) – Clottey has quickly become the boxing's underground darling, after showing grit against Antonio Margarito in a loss and in dismantling the late Diego Corrales. Clottey would prove a challenge to Mosley and I think a bout between the two would make for certain fireworks.

Juan Manuel Lopez (Top Rank) vs. Abner Mares (Golden Boy)
    – This fight will not be made now because both men are rising prospects. But in about two years, if the career trajectory of both men pans out as many experts expect...this will be another legendary battle between Mexican and Puerto Rican ring idols. Both men can box and punch and I may be a sadist with no regard for the development of blue chip prospects, but I would love to see them fight in '07.

Manny Pacquiao (Top Ran/Golden Boy) vs. Juan Manuel Marquez (Golden Boy/Romanza) II – This is the fight we have be craving for and of all the fights I have proposed up to this point...the most likely to happen. The boxing world has been waiting to see who would win the rematch of their hotly contested 2004 draw.

Marco Antonio Barrera (Golden Boy) vs. Erik Morales (Top Rank) IV – Why not? Neither man is at their peek and that makes another bout between the pair a potential for the best in sanctioned violence. We all know the bad blood between the two and that provides the fuel for a beautiful struggle in the ring. Would you rather see Morales fight David Diaz and Marco Antonio Barrera fight Manny Pacquiao, or see the Mexican duet play their violent fiddle again?

Humberto Soto (Top Rank) vs. Joan Guzman (Golden Boy/Sycuan Ringside) – These guys are standing on the sidelines...waiting for their shot at one of the super featherweight divisions big names. Unfortunately, they will not be able to stand-by much longer and need to take a risk. A battle between Soto and Guzman would be intriguing, as neither man has one punch power, but both are technically sound, patent, and forged professionals. The winner would have one more point in their argument for a marquee fight against Pacquiao or Marquez.
