Lenox Lewis - an example for mayweather and others

Who said all fighters fight until their middle age and after great champions become bums? Lenox Lewis was the last of a linage of quality fighters such as tyson, hollifield, kimbo and tommy morrison j/k. The new ones are also good no pun intended, but lenox was in another league. What i wanna bring out is the way he managed his career and the way most fighters in Europe do. If you're looking for one fighter who, not for one moment didn't embarrass themselves in a ring being to old/fat/slow = shot, lenox pops to mind right away.
I hate the fact they also over protect their fighters though. Great champion Sven Ottke is unquestionably a great german fighter but dispite his record i can say, having watched all his fights, he isnt exceptional. Many others all over they world have such careers which you can understand if a fighter is like 26 or 27 and still maturing, but when you have 29 year old fighters and older still facing journymen , hoping they can somehow cheat the history books with numbers, it just brings shame to boxing. Anyway, now the good thing about the European boxing is their fighters know when to call it quits. They pay their taxes so they wont be forced to come back and mostly stay retired after they retire (Lenox, Sven Ottke, many other champions)
