I agreed with everything you stated Mik because it was very well thought out and presented, not to mention accurate. Nice post.

My point was not that it isnt better to win early or convincingly than it is to win by a small margin. Thats obvious. The point is that winning is better than losing or drawing. At the end of the day it is better to win a split decision than it is to get knocked out in an exciting 7 round all-out-war.

I would say it would depend on how the split descision was won or lost.

I think I see how Mik is looking at it. When judging the worth of a fighter in terms of the public spectacle then the manner of the fight is more important than the result, and this is true in all of the greatest bouts in history. However when judging a fighter's ability a win is a win. A fighter winning a tougher than expected fight does not suddenly diminish the ability of the victor as a fighter. His standing may be diminished if he loses a narrow decision, but it shouldn't be diminished if he struggles and wins.

In other words it's better to struggle and win than it is to lose with ease...

This redundancy has got to stop, already!!
I agree with this as well. There is no point to having multiple threads on the same topic.

Nobody in here makes those threads tell the rest of ur friends to stop making those threads. I'm a big Floyd fan and I rarely make a thread on him. Everyone else does it for me.
