I agreed with everything you stated Mik because it was very well thought out and presented, not to mention accurate. Nice post.
Putting to rights some common NSB wrongs.

My point was not that it isnt better to win early or convincingly than it is to win by a small margin. Thats obvious. The point is that winning is better than losing or drawing. At the end of the day it is better to win a split decision than it is to get knocked out in an exciting 7 round all-out-war.Comment

I would say it would depend on how the split descision was won or lost.My point was not that it isnt better to win early or convincingly than it is to win by a small margin. Thats obvious. I think I see how Mik is looking at it. When judging the worth of a fighter in terms of the public spectacle then the manner of the fight is more important than the result, and this is true in all of the greatest bouts in history. However when judging a fighter's ability a win is a win. A fighter winning a tougher than expected fight does not suddenly diminish the ability of the victor as a fighter. His standing may be diminished if he loses a narrow decision, but it shouldn't be diminished if he struggles and wins.
In other words it's better to struggle and win than it is to lose with ease...Comment

I agree with this as well. There is no point to having multiple threads on the same topic. The biggest problem with NSB is, posters too frequently create duplicate threads about the same topics over-and-over again. I mean, how many freakin "Ricky Hatton is hugger" threads do we need? I've counted at least 30 since last weeks fight. The same can be said about the amount of " Mayweather style is boring" threads. This redundancy has got to stop, already!!
