Mills Lane was the best, I think, but of course he's not around anymore. The worst most crooked and incompatent and intrusive ref I've ever seen - ever since that bald-headed fat Irish ****** who used to ref the Golden Gloves in NY - is Randy Neumann. There are some pretty good refs around, but their names don't come to mind. A good ref will keep control and do what needs to be done in such an unobtrusive way that you barely even notice he's there. The bad ones try to make themselves the center of attention.
