    Arguello vs. Sanchez

Who wins this bout between these two greats...the boxing technitian Alexis Arguello and the incredibly skilled Salvador Sanchez?

Does this happen at 126 or 130? We don't know what Sanchez could have done at 130 and Arguello was his best at 130.

I would say Arguello was at his best at 126 also.

Arguello's biggest advantage would be his punching power, but I see Sanchez being able to take it.

This is a great fantasy match up. I think Sanchez would get a UD or maybe stop Arguello late.

I just see Sanchez being better at everything

argello take him prime for prime in my mind...i thinka arguello speed and power would be a combination that sanchez wouldnt expect or ever seen (he saw power..and he saw speed..but never both of them with such great boxing ability behind it)

Arguello's speed was anything but impressive, imo. He was borderline slow and Sanchez would have a clear advantage in this category. However, Arguello made up for his average handspeed with incredible accuracy, precision, and textbook form. His punches were always straight, short, crisp, and the results were always deadly. He liked to stalk his opponent but applied subtle pressure; nothing too aggressive.

Sanchez on the other hand was a pure counter-puncher who ate up aggressive swarmers/sluggers. He was pretty much a complete offensive fighter, who could box and move or brawl.

As far as a matchup between these two, i think Sanchez's greater handspeed and better movement win him this fight. Arguello would definately have his moments, but Salvidor would be able to take his shots. Sanchez by close decision.

Anything above featherweight, i'd go with Arguello by decision. Sanchez wasn't nearly as tall or as big as Alexis and wouldn't be able to carry the weight as well.
