he's the white hope i guess. Plus....he's Irish... and all yanks think they're a little bit 'bog trotter' too. Thats why he's PPV. - But you knew that already!
I hope Duddy keeps rising, it's a shame he's skanking his fans though. I know he's in the fight BUSINESS but still.. it's not all about the money is it Duddy?
I like him anyway and i agree, nobody buy PPV for people they don't know too well or haven't seen so... nope, i agree.. he won't earn anymore fans.Comment

Whats even stranger, is that his best fight against Campas, wasnt even on TV. it was free ONLINE over the internet.
Not only that, but his very next fight was on PPV?!?!?!?!?!
How do you go from not even being able to score a TV time slot, to a PPV?
The good thing is, Duddy is very active and fights once every 2 or 3 monthsComment

You say that like being on PPV is some honor. All you have to do is show something to a provider to make them think you'll make a profit. It isn't a prestige thing. It isn't exclusive to the best fighters, or the entertaining fighters.
Really though, on the above comment of Duddy being ESPN FNF worthy and not PPV worthy, as flawed as I just said that idea is, I still don't even agree. Honestly watching Duddy I've seen nothing that would even peak my interest on a FNF card if it wasn't for his name value. He has so far to go.Comment

It's called sponsorship, which is where the revenue comes from on boxing cards. If you go with a network, like HBO, they'll give you a flat fee to do a show with and control all the sponsorship revenue. However, if you do the show independently on PPV and do a cheap $19.95 card, you can create your own sponsorship revenue and then put, I dunno, Geicko on the time clock, Duddy fight brought to you by Heineken, whatever and the sky is the limit with the ammount of money you can make with the right PR.Comment

the thing is this ppv doesnt have the big names, but its still going to have great fights. Duddy's last ppv was an excellent show. me and a few of my friends plan on watching it..its only 5 bucks between us all, which most likely will be worth it. then the big triple header on hbo. should be a good boxing day.Comment
