Warren Settles Hatton Libel Case

Frank Warren has settled his High Court libel action against Ray Hatton, the father of IBO light-welterweight champion Ricky Hatton.

As part of the agreement, Warren and the Hattons will sit down and discuss working together in the future.

Interesting development. This raises the possibility that Hatton could be fighting on Warren's cards again which in turn raises the possibility that we could be seeing boxing super-cards in the UK in the near future. Can you imagine a card with a double main event of Calzaghe v Kessler and Hatton Mayweather. Knowing Frank Warren, the chances of that happening are slim but the prospect is mouthwatering nevertheless.

Warren and Hatton Settle Libel Action

Promoter Frank Warren reported on his website that he settled his High Court libel action against Ray Hatton, father undefeated Ricky Hatton. The case was set to go to trial in London when the settlement was reached. Warren alleged that the elder Hatton libeled him on BBC Radio on 9/1/05 and on the BBC Sports website on 10/17/05. [details]
