The whole boxing versus MMA ****..Let it rest. Kimbo is a bum so is mercer. Two different sports, both are hard and all athletes at the top of their respective sports are talented. Its like comparing baseball to cricket because they both use a piece of wood to hit a ball. I hope that some people agree. I watch both and truth is boxers should box boxers and fighters should fight other fighters......

For all the jiu jitsu fans and MMA people pushing their sport on this forum. GET OUT, this is BOXINGSCENE...

for the record I love the UFC, jiu jitsu and MMA just dont think this an appropriate venue for the debate.

What's odd to me is that Kimbo is not really an MMA fighter he was a backyard boxer who received MMA training for this fight. BUT SO DID MERCER. I think the difference is Kimbo is younger and obviously absorbed the ground game better than Mercer.

I'll respect MMA more when it actually becomes mixed martial arts and not two stereroid pumped up wrestlers throwing pathetic punches and kicks. Dont get me wrong there are a few good athletes and maybe UFC has a long term future who knows? But you can never beat two guys going at it fist to fist in a ring.
