Hatton has had only 3 fights in the U.S, so of course he wouldnt be as recognized as Floyd here. Thats the reason for Hatton turning Floyd down when Floyd called him out. Floyd wouldve tried to **** Hatton at the negotiating table because Hatton was a virtual unknown at the time. Fighters like him and Cotto will soon overshadow Floyd with thier crowd pleasing styles. Floyd couldnt get 50 fans from Grand Rapids to go watch him fight in Vegas, let alone 11k like Hatton just did.

Hatton's contract apparently specifically stated that he wouldnt fight mayweather as part of his 3 fight deal, now no one knows for sure, but hatton himself has implyed this, i can find the sources later, it had NOTHING to do with mayweather's demands, it was about hatton not wanting to fight.


Hatton also LIED to his fans and told them he could fight mayweather in his 3rd and final fight of the contract, and yet he knew full well the fight wouldnt happen.

Hatton has the bigger following thats been shown by the amount of fans that followed him to see him fight Castillo. PBF wouldnt be able to take thousands of his fans to England to see him fight Hatton if they fought there.
