    What would you think if

    mayweather beats hatton this year
mosley and cotto next year and
    retire for good?

    where would you place him?
would people be finally satisfied (which i doubt)?
or will they start saying oh he gotta
fight willaims berto and cintron because
mosley was washed up, cotto wasnt ready, and
    hatton was overrated?

That's what I really want to see from Floyd, more results. Those are the only 3 guys he could really draw with right now and they're the best 3 fighters left aside from Mayweather himself. If Floyd beat all those guys he'd have to be a top all tim egreat for sure for having beaten every solid competitor of his era. And I know he can do it, that's why I want to see it so badly.

If Floyd beats Hatton, Cotto and Mosley or even just fights them then I think his retirement would be much more justifiable.

it really the depends on the way he wins, if is like the win over oscar, def. not satisfied, in my eyes least would be draw never mind a decision over oscar, he has to win with a dominant performance=translation a boring ass fight,

He would be the best fighter of his generation from the 90's on.

You would have to put him in the top 20 at the very least.

                **** that. Top 10, maybe top 5 or 6.

                Come on:

                Shane Mosley
                Oscar De La Hoya
                Ricky Hatton
                Miguel Cotto
                Zab Judah
                Jose Luis Castillo (twice)
                Diego Corrales
                Genero Hernandez
                Jesus Chavez
                Arturo Gatti
                Carlos Baldomir

Add to that he'd be 41-0, undefeated, a 5 division world champion (the youngest person to ever do so), and 4 division lineal world champion (would be the first person to ever do so), and he'd STILL only be 31 years old.

Easily top 10, if not higher.

You're right. For some reason I don't think history will be kind to Floyd though even if he wins those fights.
