    Let's talk Joshua Clottey

Joshua Clottey is a f ighter that i think is really being slept on in the welterweight division. I pose a couple of questions to you guys at boxingscene:

    1: Will anyone fight him?
    2: Can he beat Cotto?
3: Will his body force him to move up in weight soon?
4: Out of all the welterweight fighter where do you rank him.

    Here's what i think:

1: I think Cintron will fight him in the bear future, and i htink that fight will launch him into star status. That would be a war, but I think Clottey is too much for him.

2: After beating Cintron, I think there is a good possibilty Cotto will fight him. This would be an ageless classic ( I think) and I think that cotto would suffer a knockout loss to Clottey. In the Judah fight, Cotto showed that he was open to the uppercut, and Clottey throws a vicious one. Cotto will not be able to shrug off Clottey's uppercut like he did with Judah. I think Clottey would catch him all night coming in, and if he does, his power would seriously hurt Cotto.

    3: I hope not.

4: I think he is the second best welterweight fighter after Floyd mayweather. He was beating Margarito badly before he broke his hand, and he would have definetly won that fight if he stayed healthy. He has a good defense, quick hands, and aton of power.

I don't want any immature idiots in this thread, please do not post: " YOUR A ****ING IDIOT< OMG< WOMG, ( Insert fav fighter here) would KTFO CLOTTEY "

Clottey is underrated and would give any welterweight a difficult fight.

How you can rank Clottey ahead of Cotto is ridiculous, and Floyd isn't a Welterweight he's a Junior Middleweight.

Clottey is maybe if generous a top five Welter at best. Mosley, Cotto, Margarito, and Williams should easily be ranked above him.

Clottey has gone from underrated to overrated imo. I think people are making too much off of the first four rounds against Margarito in a fight that he lost. I think hes a very good Welterweight, but Ive seen too many people rank him in the top three when he hasnt had a good win yet. Corrales would have lost to anybody in the top 10.

He a handful for anyone one but his power isnt what you make it out to be. He was winning the first few rounds against margarito but he lost no excuses. he hasn't beaten any top 5 WW to warrant that much praise. Cotto would frustrate him and clobber him all night b/c he keeps his hands way to high. Mosley would pick him apart, and mayweather well um runn probably but still somehow win. He'd beat Cintron cause he's a better fighter and boxer then him, he'd beat williams b/c he still raw.

I don't think he's done enough to warrant making anyone's top five, but he's certainly a talented fighter. He still needs to do more to prove himself as an elite welterweight, and he'll have his chances to do that.

1- No. Someone may do it but its too much high risk/ low reward for most people. The only guy who may do it is Margarito to clear his name but he will definatly have the Cotto fight 1st. Shane also "may" do it.

2- Clottey would destroy Cotto. He'll go toe to toe with him and win nearly every battle with his size, his combos, and his better chin.

3- You never know about these things. Alot of guys are big but half of them have to move up quickly and the other half seem to be able to stay down forever. He looks comfortable so I say he still has atleast a few more fights in him at this weight.

4- It depends on what you mean by ranking. Like the others say, you cant rank him ahead of any of the top guys but I think you meant by who do you think is the best guy and I would definatly put him ahead of everyone except for Floyd while having a 3 way tie with Margarito & Mosley. Its hard for me to seperate those guys

I would say easily top five I dont understand why people think cotto would destroy him, clottey has one of the best chins in the ww division, better hand speed and more to equal power then cotto, I dont understand why everyone thinks cotto has one punch knock out power, most of his knock outs are tko and are in the middle to later rounds.
