    An objective Hatton opinion...

First of all,I will admit that I have been wary of him.You know, the big record with a bunch of unknown opponents.But...I am slowly warming to the guy.

Last night a few things caught my eye...
First of all his fans...those folks are truly nuts,in a good way...especially for him.
To have 11,000 take the trip over here to support him is amazing. For him,it's having the home away from home. The crowd singing and chanting the entire time.

And it's true...there is no fighter from the USA who could ever get that kind of support. That says something...I'm not sure what, except they love Hatton.

Perhaps in the USA there are so many other outlets?...baseball,football,basketball,Nascar,rod eo...whatever.But I take nothing from them...because it ain't a cheap trip.

And I will tip my cap to Hatton for coming to America...attemping to be a true world class fighter and champion.
Please have him tell that guy Calzone,Calzaghe or whatever that he does not have to fear anything over here.
    So props for that...

And also it was a touch of class by him to mention Diego Corrales and to give his widow a hug.

And it was a true shot across the bow at Floyd Mayweather, what was the quote?...''you just saw more action in 4 rounds then all of Mayweather's career''.
    A nice zing!!!!

    As for the fight....
As Emanuel Steward said 30 seconds into the fight...Castillo looks shot, and he was.
But Hatton did what he had to do...he came into the ring looking like he wanted to fight and he did.His style tho...was somewhat John Ruizese.
The hook and hug it should be called...but that's cool,he won...in knockout fashion. So if the guy in front of you can't stop it..then why not continue.

So it is interesting to me that his two biggest victories have been against two 'names' whose best days were long past.
Kosta was done before the fight and was looking for that last payday.
Castillo will fight again, perhaps as a trial horse because he needs the money.
But anyone watching last night knows he is done as a contender.

What Hatton needs now is someone on his level or better...at least to full convince me he is the real deal.
I need to see him in against a Mayweather or Cotto...he must move up to 147.The great ones have done it...Oscar,Floyd,Shane and so on.
It's where the money and competition is,because there is nothing at 140 for him.

So nice win for Hatton, nice zinger and a good show of class...but now, make this match with Mayweather.

I still say Floyd cuts him up...but him and Cotto would be a good one.
Working...
