Clinching while punching is legal. Hopkins does it. Why not Hatton?

You guys are smoking. Hatton & Hopkins fight nothing alike. Hopkins doesnt just go in looking to hold and then hit. He fights regular but then if you get in a clinch, he will still hit you. Castillo is the same exact way. Look at all of Castillo's wars. He never holds but if you do manage to get in a clinch then he will keep punching, just like Hopkins. Its not part of there game plan like with Hatton. If they do it sometimes then its like once a round but never all day like Hatton. Its ugly to watch

      Holyfield/Tyson I

Holyfield punched and then tied up Tyson with clinches while throwing body shots and upper cuts and short hooks.

Quite similar to Hatton's demonstration on Castillo. Come on guys, there were plenty of action during the clinches. I don't know why everyone is so up in arms over Hatton's victory.

        can you be anymore wrong?
        HATTONS FIGHT PLAN
        1. dive in with punches
        2. clinch
        3. hold your opponents arms so he cant punch
        4. punch him
        5. let the ref seperate you
        6. if at any point you find yourself on the outside and your opponent is trying to punch catch his arms and tie him up
        7. repeat every fight 24/7

or another excuse i like to support cheating is its a fight so who cares!

Fixed. Just so you know this plan works against ****ers like Castillo. Strategy, tactics....if Castillo can't adapt to the situation fast enough, he'll lose. As proven Saturday night.

yeah hatton and holyfield have the same style dont they
every single fight EVERY FIGHT HE clinches, holyfield does not do that every single second of every round of every fight like hatton, its hard to get hit when your holding the others guys arms, i think legal boxers fighting the illegal hatton should get to use kicks, low blows, chokeholds, and chairs if hatton is going to continue cheating plus it would be funny

your argument doesnt make sense. hatton holds 10x more than hopkins. wrestling is his game. im british but tbh all the holding i saw from hatton made me sick. he would throw 1 or 2 punches and then hold and wrestle, thats all he done thru the 4 rounds.

Hopkins would hold an elbow and suddenly throw an uppercut, just like Hatton. Clinching with no action is not exciting, true. But Hatton was in there throwing uppercuts, rib punches and short hooks. The ref would only break them up after they've fully clinched and stopped throwing.

And Castillo was also throwing punches in the clinch. It wasn't like he was completely hog tied and helpless. You saw Hatton take some punches.

I like Hatton as a fighter. I also like Hopkins. They're fighters who have a bit of edge to their game.

Barrera's manhandling of Hamed was applauded, yet reverse the nationality of the winner and you've got uproar.
